Subcompact Cars Visalia CA

It should come as no surprise that subcompact and compact cars together comprise more than half of the top 30 models on the 2007 J.D. Power and Associates Automotive Environmental Index (AEI). Typically, small cars burn less fuel than larger cars and many models are engineered to exceed strict emissions regulations in California and the New England region.

According to verified owners and the EPA, these are the most environmentally friendly subcompact cars on the road

When it comes to subcompacts, some are bigger inside than you might expect"and some are more fun to drive than you might expect"but each of the following models lands on this year's AEI as among the "greenest" vehicles consumers can buy.

2007 Chevrolet Aveo

Chevrolet restyled half the Aveo lineup for 2007, significantly updating the sedan but carrying over the 5-door hatchback with a snazzy new name patterned after similarly configured vehicles from rival Kia: Aveo5. Perhaps that's fitting, as the Aveo and Aveo5 hail from South Korea, home to the Kia Rio5 and Spectra5. Sedans receive exterior styling changes and a new interior that Chevy says was "designed to challenge expectations of what an entry-level car can deliver." Power is sourced from a 103-hp, 1.6-liter 4-cylinder connected to a standard manual or optional automatic transmission. Fuel economy is rated by the EPA at 27 mpg city/37 mpg highway with the manual and 26 mpg city/34 mpg highway for the auto.
