Model Introduction
The MasterCraft X-Star is a superb example of the wakeboard towboat genre. It is considered to be one of the best of the best, and has been selected as the official towboat of the sport's premier event, the X-Games. A high-end 22-footer with all the bells and whistles, the X-Star stands out in a crowd with its pickle-fork bow, techy hull graphics, multi-function tower with board brackets and tow point, and a space-age helm station with PerfectPass cruise control.

The boat has very fast-acting steering and engine controls. Even at low speeds, the X-Star turns on a dime and reacts immediately to throttle changes.

As befits a purpose-built wakeboard boat, the X-star is built to snap a boarder out of the water and reaches 22 mph in seconds. The trade-off with any similarly appointed boat is a lower top-end speed"for the X-Star this is about 40 mph.

With a capacity of 12 passengers or 1,770 lbs. and a total of 103 gallons of ballast water (859 lbs. of fresh or 880 lbs of salt water) carried in three tanks in the bilge, the 350-hp Indmar MCX V-8 engine has its work cut out for it, yet with its immediate and powerful acceleration it proves to be more than up to the task. Up to 425 hp is available. ...
